So what is downhill mountain biking?

Nope, it’s not just about owning a mountain bike and going down a slope. It’s more than that. It’s the ability to race down on steep, downhill terrains in the fastest speed possible and with an extended air time off jumps and other obstacles. It’s the power to race against the clock.

So, to get started, we had an interview with a local rider who frequently does downhill mountain overseas or in Bukit Timah.

It’s OK!
Simply enquire from them and ask for advice!
Do remember that owning a bicycle requires commitment, just like having a girlfriend!
Not only it is costly ($6000 per bike, YIKES), you need to take care of it regularly!
1. Servicing – to be done every 6 months at the bike shop
2. Self – maintenance – to be done weekly

No experience?
Doesn’t matter!
First-timers will be guided slowly from the ‘seniors’.

- Alternatively, you may go to YMCA to attend their riding classes.
- Or if you are an independent fast learner, watch online videos and DVDs on Downhill Mountain biking.
